Artist Statement

The guiding thread for my work is the protective shell that covers what is essential, and the protection of what human beings consider really valuable. The sculptures are shaped as chrysalises that surround what is precious, and they represent the safeguard of what provides sense to human life and of what keeps humans on movement.

There are many kinds of protecting shells, and inside of them we can find multiple treasures as diverse as people on earth. These capsules, as jewel boxes, are unique and preserve different symbolisms inside, but they also join us because every one of us has something important that we do not want to lose. Our existence depends on its permanence.
